Radford University alumnus Slash Coleman returns to campus October 9 in a presentation of Glow: The Documentary.
Coleman, a 1989 graduate, is known for his one-man musical play The Neon Man and Me, which was performed at McConnell Library in April 2006. The Neon Man and Me celebrates the friendship between Coleman and fellow RU student Mark Jamison, and describes how, years later, Coleman came to terms with Jamison’s unexpected death.
Glow is a thirty-minute video chronicle of the development and future of The Neon Man and Me (including plans to bring the show to PBS television later this year). It includes interviews with friends and acquaintances and music by The Rabbles and Vegetation Information (featuring Jamison on saxophone).
Following the screening of Glow, Coleman will play a song from the show and will perform a monologue set on the RU campus.
Performances of Glow will be held on Level 4 of McConnell Library at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9. Refreshments will be provided. There is no cost to attend. Visit www.slashcoleman.com for more information about Slash Coleman.
