EndNote X1 is now available for PCs.
First, uninstall any earlier version of EndNote on your computer. Remove any EndNote shortcuts you have on your desktop, etc.
Then, go to:
https://ru-portal.portal.radford.edu/rusoftware/Default.aspx
After you log in with your RU e-mail name and password, scroll down to “Student and Faculty/Staff Home Use” and click on the “Next” button. You will be brought to a page which includes links to EndNote X1 for Windows. (EndNote X is available for Macs).
After it is downloaded, configure EndNote by going to the EndNote menu in Programs, and choosing “Configure EndNote.” In the “Welcome to the EndNote Configuration” box, choose Configure EndNote components for me. Click Next, then in the “Select Components to Install,” check the box “Unified Cite While You Write for Microsoft Word.” Finally, click the “Finish” box.
EndNote should then work correctly. If it does not, ask to speak to an Instructional Technologist at Walker.
Running the “Configure EndNote” program is also solving problems with EndNote X1 on campus machines and new tablet laptops for faculty. If your “Cite While You Write” or “Connect” features are not working properly, try running the Configure wizard.
