Are you an RU faculty member? Want to help reward student academic achievement and give $500 to two students? Become a judge for the Winesett Awards for Library Research (http://lib.radford.edu/information/award/index.cfm)!
The judging committee is made up of 3 librarians and 2 teaching faculty. Past judges have included Biology Professor Joel Hagen, History Professor Mike Montgomery, and Social Work Field Coordinator Deneen Evans. Each year we try to get faculty from different colleges to bring their expertise to the judging table.
Judging is a great way to see some of the best work our students accomplish - and your participation won’t require a lot of your time.
As a judge, you would need to attend a short organizational meeting in the spring, read the entries (due Friday, April 18, 2008), get together with the other judges one time the following week to decide the winners, and come to the Library Research Awards reception on Friday, April 25. As a judge, you cannot sponsor a student entry.
If you are interested in being a judge, please send an to e-mail by Wednesday, September 26, to the Library Research Awards Chair, Candice Benjes-Small, at cbsmall@radford.edu, x6801. (We pretty much choose names in a lottery-system). We will announce the judges on Thursday, September 27.
