Chicago/Turabian help now available

Are you using Chicago/Turabian citation style for one of your classes? It’s a common citation style in many disciplines, including history. If so, you’ll be happy to know that a citation guide for the most common reference resources is now available on the library’s website. In order to make formatting even easier for you, it’s color-coded just like our popular APA citation guide!

Based on the Chicago Manual of Style and Kate Turabian’s A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, this online guide shows you how to format over a dozen different kinds of resources, including websites, blog entries, online journal articles, and books. Each entry shows you how to format an endnote or footnote, plus shortened references and the ever-mysterious “ibid.”

To find the “Chicago/Turabian Info” link, go to the “Find Articles & More” page of the library’s website. You’ll see it on the right side of the page in the “Shortcuts’ section, just below the APA and MLA information. Or you can link directly to it by bookmarking this page: http://lib.radford.edu/resources/handouts/styleguides-chicago.asp

We have also scheduled two Library Survivor Workshops on using Chicago/Turabian style, the first on Wednesday, October 10, from 3 pm to 4:15 pm, and the second on Thursday, November 8, from 3:30 pm to 4:45 pm. More information on Library Survivor Workshops can be found here: http://lib.radford.edu/Instruction/survivor.asp
