Library announces Book Collecting Contest

Do you like to read?  Do you collect books?  Then the library’s Winesett Book Collecting Contest is for you!  Featuring a $200 First Prize and a $100 Second Prize, the contest encourages and celebrates reading and book collecting by Radford University students. Collections can be on any topic or theme.

Details are available on the Winesett Book Collecting Contest web page:  http://lib.radford.edu/Archives/bookcontest.htm.  The deadline for applications is December 11, 2009.  An awards ceremony will be held the first week of classes in January 2010.  Selections from the winners’ collections will be displayed in the library.

The Winesett Book Collecting Contest is sponsored by McConnell Library’s Archives and Special Collections and the Winesett Endowment. For more information, please contact Gene Hyde, Archivist, at wehyde@radford.edu or 540-831-5692.
