Faculty: Request library instruction for your students for Spring 2009

Do your students have difficulties finding, evaluating, or citing appropriate sources?  The instruction librarians are here to help!

BOOSTER SHOTS

If your students just need a refresher on plagiarism or APA, or an overview of a new-to-them database, consider having an instruction librarian drop in to your class.   We go to your classroom and give a brief 15-20 minute session on the topic of your choice.

LIBGUIDES

Send us the assignment and we’ll create an electronic handout with links to the best databases, citation guides, and other library resources.  Each Libguide is designed to reflect your particular assignment and topics.  See a sample Libguide at: http://libguides.radford.edu/e101shulman

RESEARCH DAYS

Want to give your students a class period to conduct library research?  You can reserve a library classroom, guaranteeing your students access to computers and the library’s collection.  You can also request a librarian be present to help individuals with their searching.

WORKSHOPS

At any time in the semester you can request a full library instruction workshop, held in our library classrooms. We teach students how to create search strategies, how to use library databases, how to evaluate Websites, ways to avoid plagiarism, and how to cite in APA, MLA, or Chicago/Turabian.
