The Library will feature readings and receptions with authors from the 30th annual Highland Summer Conference from June 5-June 14. The readings will be held on Level 4 of the Library, in the future home of the Appalachian Collection, on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7:30-9:30. All readings are free and open to the public.
The Highland Summer Conference will feature the following authors:
• Sharyn McCrumb, author of the Ballad series, St. Dale, and her newest novel, Once Around the Track, will read on Tuesday, June 5.
• Marilou Awiakta, author of Selu: Seeking the Corn Mother’s Wisdom and Abiding Appalachia: Where Mountain and Atom Meet will read on Thursday, June 7.
• Jo Carson, poet, playwright, and author of Stories I Ain’t Told Nobody Yet, will read on Tuesday, June 12.
• Bill Brown, author of Holding On While Letting Go, Gods of Little Pleasures: Poems, and several other works, will read on Thursday, June 14.
